New Edinburgh StreetFest

September 9, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

$30

A wonderful mix of music and heritage, StreetFest is returning for its second year under the sponsorship of Laurentian (a local women’s service group), StreetFest is once again raising funds for the Inuuqatigiit Centre for Inuit Children, Youth and Families.

Music: Jazz all afternoon at Governors Walk. Four concerts at St. Bartholomew’s featuring tenor, Trygve Ringereide, mezzo-soprano, Susanna Doherty as well as Celtic singer-songwriters, Lindsey Graham and Maddy O’Regan, and the lovely harp and guitar of Acacia Lyra. The day will culminate with a ceilidh — a kind of Celtic singalong — in the NCC park opposite 62 John Street (4 pm) Enjoy the Beer & Wine Tent as you sing.

Heritage: Three open houses — old and gorgeously restored village homes — as well as five Doorstep Guides posted throughout the village to share stories of historic homes and buildings. Janet Uren — co-author of an upcoming history of the village — will be sharing stories of the past (10.30 in the park and noon at St. Bartholomw’s). For those who want to experience New Edinburgh in an old-fashioned way, there are also  horse-and-wagon rides (noon to 4 pm).
