NCC UPDATE ON THE PARK REMEDIATION The NCC wishes to acknowledge the collaboration of residents of the community with regard to the Stanley Avenue Park Remediation project to date. We are happy to inform you that the project is progressing as planned. The weather and the contractor’s expertise and dedication to the project have contributed to the project being on time. Please consult the NCC website at: www.canadascapital.gc.ca and look for the link “Stanley Park” on the home page for the most current information regarding the schedule of the entire project.
Since the remediation work is only partially completed, according to the Canada Labour Code, the site remains a construction area under the responsibility of the Contractor. Therefore for health and safety reasons the park must remain closed to the public until the completion of construction in the Spring of 2010. It is most important to note that, breach of entry onto the site may adversely affect the opening of the park to users in the Spring 2010.To ensure the best possible results and the quickest re-opening of the entire park, it is important that the community at large refrain from using the fenced off areas.
