New Edinburgh Committee on the Environment Print

NecoE was launched after a neighbourhood brainstorming session in June 2008.  In its first year, the committee has focused on household energy efficiency and lower emissions, healthy gardening, trees, waste reduction, sustainable plans and conservation in the neighbourhood.  See NEN article from Oct 08.

VISION

NecoE improves the environmental quality within the New Edinburgh community toward a more sustainable future.

GOALS:

  • To promote environmental awareness in our community
  • To help residents achieve a more environmentally friendly lifestyle, through education and practical help
  • To raise awareness of the practical and social rewards of a greener lifestyle
  • To advocate on New Edinburgh's behalf, and with like-minded groups, for sustainable development

  • Trash Talk event hosted by LEAF in Lindenlea, assisted by NecoE, April 18, 2009
