Residents in New Edinburgh are a varied bunch, with many interesting leisure activities and travel experiences. This section of the community website is where residents can share their experiences and enthusiasm with others in the community. TRAVEL STORIESIf you are like many in New Edinburgh, travel is in your bones. In fact, there are so many Burghers traipsing around the world that we have decided to add this new travel area to the community site. So now when you are planning your next international adventure you can check out experiences that others from our neck of the woods have had in that region. And when you return, you can share your impressions and information. South AmericaNicaragua: An Unplanned Surprise, from Heather Bacon, a former Burgh resident and Crichton School teacher who was persauded by her husband Hugh to sail around the world upon retirement.
Europe BIRDING REPORTSWe are very fortunate to have many birding enthusiasts living in and around New Edinburgh. Below are some of the recent sighting reports from these 'birders'. Vicki Metcalf: Birding in Germany and The Netherlands - A listing of the species identified by local birders Vicki Metcalf and Denis Orchard in the course of their travels in Germany and Holland in June and July, 2009.
